The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is looking for a project manager who knows how to get people on board, motivate and stimulate them for the best result.

Tasks include organizing events and meetings, communication and marketing around the five themes, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, monitoring progress and reporting to the stakeholders, enthuse academic staff to participate, support the progress of the interdisciplinary educational activities and keep in touch with the UG Schools.

In the strategic plan 2021-2026 FEB aims to position itself stronger on five interdisciplinary themes:

  • Healthy Society
  • Energy Transition and Climate Change
  • Digital and Artificial Intelligence
  • Future Prosperity and Sustainability
  • Leadership and Governance

These themes should be visible in education, research, and our corporate connections and impact activities. Furthermore, these themes are clearly linked with the interdisciplinary schools that are (being) developed at UG.

The Interdisciplinary themes project is in its next phase. The continuation of the project organization will start today. In the upcoming Academic year, the project will fall directly under the Board. The FB still sees an important role in the current start-up phase. From September 2024 the themes should run more independently. The project manager will support and provide coordination on the five themes. You understand the business of project management. And can team up with Internal communication and marketing, secretaries, the vice dean and the FB for the best results of embedding the themes within the faculty.

We are now looking for a project manager who can drive and support the above-mentioned strategic themes in the project teams and take it into the next phase.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) has approximately 6,500 students and 700 staff members who form an informal, personal and inspiring academic community; 25% of our students and our staff are international. FEB provides an ambitious, open and dynamic working environment and encourages its staff members to innovate. FEB currently offers 21 degree programmes (NVAO accredited). The Faculty is AACSB and EQUIS accredited and is thus among the top 1% of business schools worldwide.

Qualifications

We are looking for a new colleague with the following skills, abilities and qualifications:

  • an academic level of working and thinking; affinity with economics and business is preferred
  • over 3 years of experience in working on a project basis in the field of (international) higher education is preferred
  • a result-oriented attitude
  • strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, faculty, staff and external community partners in a culturally responsive manner
  • commitment to functioning as an effective, flexible and enterprising team member
  • excellent writing and communication skills in Dutch and English.

Conditions of employment

What we are offering you in accordance with the collective Labour agreement for Dutch Universities:

  • a salary depending on qualifications and work experience starting from a minimum of € 2,836 gross per month and a maximum of € 4,474 (salary scale 10) for a full- time position
  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus and participation in a pension scheme for employees
  • a position for the period of 4 years. For this position, the following UFO job profile applies: Project Leader 1.
